Government College, Chatter (Jind)
The college situated in a rural area of district Jind,
Block Uchana in Haryana. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of
Haryana on the occasion of Raksha-Bandhan on August 2020. It was started from
the makeshift buildings of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Chatter with the title
“Government College Chatter for Women” under the affiliation of Chaudhary
Ranbir Singh University, Jind. The principalship was crowned to Principal of
Government College, Jind. In the beginning, the college was run only for Girls
and classes were commenced for the session 2020-21 with the Arts stream with
English, Hindi, History and Political Science subjects alongside 60 seats for
escalating the literacy percentage of rural areas’ Girls education. The
institution was fetching and accomplishing the educational goals of government
continuously. Later, for the welfare and development of the villagers, the name
of the college was converted to Government College, Chatter and opened for
boys’ education in the light of co-education.
At present, the college is running in a makeshift
buildings with five rooms of Sahid Jai Singh Government Girls Primary School,
Chatter. The office of the principal and the administration staff are working
in a one room separately. Two batches have passed out from this college so far. Three batches are studying on
180 seats. The NEP 2020, an educational policy, has implemented in the college.
There are separate washrooms and toilets for girls and boys students as well as
for college staff. A small library is formed with a
lot of books which are used by the college students for ripping their knowledge
in various fields of life. Some books are purchased by placement cell for
preparing the competitive exams. For uninterrupting functioning of the office
work, a solar system is installed with battery backup and an inverter are also
installed.
The entire campus of the college decorated with
CCTV cameras. An IQAC is functioning properly for assuring the internal quality
of the institution. The college has registered on AISHE. The whole campus of
the college is eco-friendly.
